Ethics Statement

Since our founding, we have committed ourselves to producing journalism that is transparent, trustworthy, and independent. The integrity of our reporting is essential to our mission, and we hold ourselves to a rigorous ethical standard that governs every aspect of our work.

Our readers rely on us for accurate information, thoughtful analysis, and fearless reporting. To earn and maintain this trust, we adhere to strict editorial guidelines designed to safeguard our independence and ensure full transparency in how we gather, produce, and present our content.

As a company, we also align with industry-recognized codes of conduct, including the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.

Editorial Independence

Our reporting is conducted free of influence from advertisers, investors, or other outside forces. Every member of our editorial team abides by a strict code of conduct:

  • We do not accept gifts, services, or compensation of any kind from companies or PR firms in exchange for coverage.
  • We do not offer editorial control or previews to subjects of our reporting.
  • We do not allow personal financial investments to interfere with our journalistic work.
  • We do not produce or contribute to paid content.
  • We do not cover individuals or organizations with whom we have personal conflicts of interest.

All decisions about what we cover and how we cover it are made solely by our editorial team.

Professional Conduct

Our reporters and editors strive to:

  • Report the truth with accuracy and integrity.
  • Protect confidential sources when necessary.
  • Avoid causing harm wherever possible.
  • Acknowledge and correct mistakes swiftly and clearly.

We aim to be accountable and transparent in everything we do.

Sourcing Guidelines

We adhere to clearly defined sourcing rules:

  • On the Record is the default. Information may be quoted and attributed by name.
  • On Background requires prior agreement. We may quote information using a descriptor but not a name.
  • Off the Record means we do not use the information unless we verify it elsewhere. It requires mutual consent before the conversation begins.

We do not accept unsolicited “on background” or “off the record” statements without agreement from our team.

Advertising and Sponsorships

We maintain a clear separation between editorial and commercial operations:

  • Our editorial team does not participate in the sale or production of advertisements.
  • Sponsored content is always labeled transparently (e.g., “Sponsored by” or “Paid Content”).
  • Advertisers have no say in our editorial decisions or coverage.

Affiliate links may appear in our stories, and we may receive commissions from purchases. However, our editorial content is never influenced by these relationships.

Corrections Policy

We are committed to accuracy. When we make an error:

  • We issue a correction as soon as possible.
  • We mark updates clearly when stories evolve or change meaningfully after publication.
  • In certain cases, we may remove or replace content if it violates legal or ethical standards.

Reviews and Product Testing

When reviewing products or services, our opinions remain independent:

  • We do not accept payment for reviews.
  • Review units may be provided for a limited time; if retained longer, it’s solely for extended evaluation.
  • We occasionally agree to embargoes for early access but maintain full editorial control.

Financial and Employment Conflicts

  • Staff members may not trade or invest in companies we cover.
  • Cryptocurrencies and related assets are also prohibited for investment.
  • Employees may not accept outside work related to the topics we cover without prior approval.

Giveaways

From time to time, we run giveaways or contests. Rules for participation are published and binding. Giveaways are not endorsements and are never influenced by advertising relationships.

Investors and Partnerships

If we enter into partnerships or receive investment, we disclose those relationships clearly when relevant. Editorial coverage remains independent of business arrangements, unless content is specifically created as part of a branded partnership, which will be clearly disclosed.

Feedback

We welcome constructive feedback and are committed to improving our standards. If you believe our content violates our ethics guidelines, please contact us directly.
